While birding in Bloomington Park near the town of Clinton, Kansas between 11:30 and 2:00 p.m. on 9/16/14, I saw several adult Monarchs flying in the area around Clinton Lake. I estimated 15-20. I looked up once while standing on the beach at Bloomington Park to watch migrating American White Pelicans, flying high and headed straight south, and during that moment a Monarch flew right past me, headed in the same direction. Yesterday's temperature was 69 degrees, sunny, calm.
