We have a hummingbird feeder outside our kitchen window. A female ruby throated hummingbird has claimed it as her own. We see her frequently chasing other hummingbirds that attempt to feed at it. She perches above it and watches. We also have numerous tubular flowers in the yard which she is maintaining watch over also. We have seen more females than males attempt to come to the feeder. We are unable to get an accurate count. They are amazing to watch. We listen for their chirping and the hum of the wings. Beautiful creatures!
