For the past several weeks this year's youngsters have been drinking, flying around like crazy and generally being very entertaining. One little fellow guards my window feeder--he actually chest bumped another off of the feeder, something I have not seen before. I hate to think of them leaving. I have not seen an adult male for a couple of weeks and the adult females left soon after. I think that they had very successful broods this year. I do not think I have had as many youngsters ever before. I hope they return here next Spring. I will miss them and always look forward to the New Year.
