A very active Monarch eagerly sipping nectar from a bush with tiny red and yellow clusters of flowers (in our front yard). A very warm day. I've been encouraging this bush to grow.It has pods filled with cottony stuff around the seeds that help spread them around.
I find the Monarchs seem to come back to the same site.
The other Monarch was a week before this sighting soaring over our front yard (I have two huge basil bushes in front that the Monarchs and the bees love).
Also I've noticed a yellow butterfly with wide black "V" shaped mark on its wings.
