This report from a friend who has a house right on Lake Michigan. They are moving despite southerly winds of 10-15 miles/hour.

We came to the lake house to do some final chores and the monarchs are fluttering by..they look so fresh and ready for the journey. A nice treat today that I did not expect to see.
