Last weekend we tagged 24 Monarchs mostly males 9/13, yesterday afternoon sightings were 6 males and 2 females in our nectaring pens, I tagged and released them. Chilly temps made them a bit sluggish. We are excited here on our barrier reef because we planted alot of milkweed last year to build our monarch habitat and it is working, in addition to plenty of nectaring plants and bushes.
Today's sightings should be stronger 9/20/14, will report again- happy viewing from Fire Island, NY! Ellen
