Sightings report image

Date: 09/20/2014

Number: 100

We are in the peak right now and have gone through over 100# of sugar since mid August. I have to admit that most of our feeders are the 48oz Perky Pet variety this time of year. I have spotted two Rufous - one was clearly a female the other as imaged is a sub adult male. I've heard what might have been a Broad-tailed. All the others are Rubies. This year I have two that are strongly guarding two separate feeders - a full grown male and what looks like a young fluffy female. Also this year we have noticed a change in the preferred feeder locations slightly west of other years.
