We have seen only a couple monarchs this week until today. Returning home from Rochester MN, we saw over 10 monarchs all flying low across the highway in a southerly direction. When we got home, we grabbed our nets and tags and went to the butterfly trail. We could see several monarchs circling the trees, looking for a roost. After watching for a few minutes, we saw a roost about 12 ft up in a tree of about 15 monarchs and were able to tag 9. This is the latest we have seen monarchs roosting here.
