At the entry to Thompson Park/Leslie Spit by Lake Ontario we saw 6 Monarch Butterflies nectaring mainly on Golden Rod during a period of ~ 15 min. During a 1 h walk further out on the Spit, we saw no other Monarch Butterflies, perhaps because it was quite windy on this beautiful warm summer day, ~ 22 C.
