I have two hummingbird feeders and numerous outdoor plants that hummingbirds like. A female hummer has been seen everyday in my backyard, mostly at the feeder, since June/July 2014. She protects the feeder well. At least one male will drink from the feeder but only for a short time since the female will chase the male away. Yesterday, a male hummer frequented the feeder and plants through out the day. For some reason, the female did not chase the male away...perhaps she has migrated already.
