Had a lovely encounter with a pair of beautiful monarchs on the white butterfly bush clump at National Zoo Monday. The one was in the sunshine ever-so-briefly, and I was quick to snap as many pictures as I could. Including the one with the "stained glass effect" on his wings here, as is the prettiest. This is already such an improvement over last fall's migration, making me so very happy! Looking forward to seeing what the next few zoo visits bring.
