And so it begins.... The peak migration is still a few weeks away for us here in Dallas, but there are a few early arrivals right now. The Frostweed has opened just enough to attract this male, and if you look closely at the shot, you can see that a few flowers are open, but most are still in bud (un-opened) form. Over the next few weeks, the Monarch numbers will dramatically increase just as the Frostweed goes into full bloom, attracting pollnators of all kinds like crazy. But for now, this male is dining alone!
