Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/23/2014

Number: 4

Small, girls continue to be in the habitat--There are 14 feeders, cleaned and filled so our small census have their choice--(number 15 has become a bee feeder :) and our elegant guests appear to select their preference. The majority of the feeders are hum zingers, but there are also a few old fashioned perky pets, and 2 that look similar to perky pets but have blossom like tubes. Our small, guests are thin--the weather is predicted to be pleasant for the next 5 days--highs in the 70s and low 50s at night. Hopefully they will "tank up" for the rest of their journey. Favored flowers: Black and Blue Salvia, Pruple Prince Zinnias, Rose of Sharon, Turtle Heads, Obedient Plants, Agastache, few wild Cardinal flowers in the ditches. Evening finds each guest perched next to "her feeder" bedtime is between 7:45 and 7:48 PM. Morning activity starts shortly after 7 AM.
