While parked at the Rochester airport we observed 5 monarchs in about 5 minutes, flying around and alighting on goldenrod in the wide-open field nearby. Their general direction was northeast to southwest. Weather was sunny, strong breeze out of the southwest and about 70 degrees. We also observed a single monarch investigating flowers outside a florist shop near Mt. Hope Cemetery.
