Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/21/2014

Number: 55

Well, this is my first Ruby Throat report. It is also my first summer and fall to have had feeders. I have never been so amazed in my six decades of life. We live on a large tract of land in East Texas. Relocated here from the big city of Houston. From Mid August until now (9/24) there have been about sixty HBirds using three feeders. Our first strong cold front came on Monday. Most of them seemed to have decided to use the strong wind from the north and headed south. A couple of smaller juveniles are still feeding. Anyway, how exciting for an old guy.
