Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 09/23/2014

Number: 30

The weather has been warm with little wind the past two days. Witnessed a very steady flow of monarchs, all headed in the same direction, with many monarchs flying very high. They seem to be on the move and much more noticeable. When tagging, only about half have been stopping for feeding. Monarchs seem to be increasing in numbers very gradually. Tagged about 13 individuals so far in 2 days, with probably 3x that number actually seen. Surprisingly seems to be half males, half females so far. Hopefully peak will occur in the next week for tagging purposes.
