Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/25/2014

Number: 5

Today the temps are in the upper 70s. I saw one Monarch in flight and four in various locations in my yard. All were feeding on New England Asters. One of them has been there since at least 9:30 a.m. and is still feeding. I think it must be the same Monarch that was here all day yesterday. Every once in a while the Monarch floats up in the air and then goes back to the Asters. I wonder if it's checking the wind direction? When it is floating in the air you can see the light winds today are from the south. They are all feeding in the shade vs. the sun
