This past weekend we had a very strong wind from the W. SW. In addition we had rain showers on Sunday. I journeyed to the top of the mountain on RT 26 south out of Pine Grove Mills and was delighted to see the adult monarchs sheltering in clearings eating nectar from the fall wild flowers and Golden Rod. This area is one where in the past I have watch 30 Monarchs per minute flying towards the W. SW. during the mid-September time frame. I was a little worried when I saw no flight, but relieved at the resting and nectar gatherers in the area. Sorry, no pictures.
