Finally, this afternoon, I have seen at least 3 female Monarchs and 2 males on the milkweed in my backyard. All day there has been only one female in and out of the yard amongst the Queens all over the place. But now there are five. four of them are quite large and one female is a good bit smaller - didn't get a chance to measure them but would say the large ones are about 4-5 inches wing tip to wing tip and the smaller one is about 3.5 to 4 inches. The smaller on looks brand new and the others look like they have been around a while. They look as if the "powder" has blotched off their wings - faded somewhat.
