Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 09/25/2014

Number: 5

I hadn't seen any eggs or larva in a few weeks. Well, this morning I spotted 5 large monarch catepillars. They should be getting ready to become crysalis' soon. I sometimes take them off if I find them and put them into a bird carrier (with a slatted opening for air) and put sticks in. I watch them carefully and once they become butterflies, I release them. This is so exciting. It gives me goose bumps. Hopefully, they will become part of the migrating monarchs to Mexico.
