Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/19/2014

Number: 1

after a very cool night, low 40s, one perfectly "new" bright Monarch Butterfly was perched, open winged, in the full sunlight, on the leaf from which had hung the chrysalis we had watched being formed exactly 19 days before (!!) on August 30. On that day, more than a dozen visitors were on a Native Plant Tour.
The butterfly took off and flew up on the Sumac shrubs surrounding the small prairie. And I hope on to Mexico later on.
