Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 09/22/2014

Number: 1

On the past 2 Mondays while doing our usual butterfly garden maintenance at the SC Botanical Garden, we have watched/seen the monarchs in all stages:females laying eggs; lots of cats, chrysalids in several places (some more openly than others); and empty chrysalids. We should be entering our peak period of the migration. The weather was cooler this past Monday, barely in the 70's while working, but the sun finally came through. Cooler temps expected for the next several days.
Since we are doing various tasks, we don't often have time to really just sit and observe. We just see the flight action and go searching.
