We went tagging at Voas Nature Area in Minburn. We tagged six monarchs and saw about eight more. The monarchs were nectaring on Compass plant. There is a lot of compass plant in the refuge. I'm glad there are still a good amount of monarchs to tag but migration is definitely winding down in central Iowa.
