Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/26/2014

Number: 2

The same two females are still with us. One mature, and one immature. The older girl is heavier looking and very possesive of both feeders scolding and diving at her companion and any human within her sight. We have had such mild weather this week I thought we would see some birds passing thru on their way south. Possible I have missed early AM birds stopping for just a drink but during the day there have not been any I have observed. The two residents we have are making lots of trips to feed on Jewelweed and late blooms but still drink heavily at the feeders. I keep the feeders up and fresh until the threat of freezing.
