Light winds in the morning but going calm by evening. Mostly sunny, 74 F, low of 59 F. Saw more frequent feeding in the morning than in the afternoon or evening--appears that more birds moved on this morning. Activity light this evening. Yesterday there was a tick up in consumption to 5 oz., today back to 3 oz.
Juvenile RT (female?) that had been guarding a feeder for two days seems to have moved on this afternoon. She came and hovered at the window a couple of times in the afternoon then left and I did not see a bird at that feeder again today. I emptied and cleaned feeders again just after dusk. I am leaving up all 4 but only partially filling the feeders. The area is forecast to have several warmer days. I suspect I will only have stragglers coming in now based on past years' dates. God speed to them all and safe journey.
I will miss reading everyone's comments and seeing their pictures until the spring migration brings the amazing hummingbirds back to us all. Thank you for taking the time and effort to report your sightings.
