Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/26/2014

Number: 1

I was looking out the dining room window at my feeder when a "female" landed on it. But wait! On closer examination she had a red broach at her throat. She was a juvenile male. And did he start guzzling the sugar water! I thought he was going to drain the feeder when a female started hovering several inches above him. He ignored her. She bounced up and down on the port next to his and he kept drinking and ignoring her. Finally, she came so close to him that he turned and, I thought was going after her. When she retreated, he went back to his sipping. She left and within a minute, he did to. I saw him again later this morning, but was too busy out front all day to come back in to check. It made my day!
