Monarch PEAK Migration
Sightings report image

Date: 09/26/2014

Number: 50

Our community college has a large patch of annual blood flower milkweed in their demonstration garden. Today we counted over 50 monarchs nectaring on the blood flowers! We have never seen so many concentrated in one area like this-what a beautiful sight! It was obvious that they were migratory monarchs feasting on the nectar. It was a warm, sunny day and they were just fluttering all over this patch of flowers.
