Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 09/04/2014

Number: 1

Saw a Monarch laying eggs on Friday August 29 on our asclepias tuberosa plants. 5 days later, we had at least 14 larvae eating heartily. Watched them eat until September 12, then they all disappeared. Could not locate any chrysalides despite searching everywhere. Might a flock of birds eaten them?
