I was totally surprised to see a monarch butterfly flying along the the road edge of our property (8 wooded acres) around 4:17 PM. The butterfly was checking out some asters that grow close to our milkweed patch, which are heavy with seed pods now. A very pleasant and calm day, 70 degrees plus.
