Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 09/28/2014

Number: 24

Just when we had given up hope of seeing more monarchs, they appeared in a grassy field with red clover near the butterfly garden. We were able to tag 18! We have never seen this many monarchs in late September. But the total number has not been real large. Last year we tagged 100 fairly easily in early September. So far we have only tagged 59. During the peak years, we were tagging 1000 in a matter of days!! So we have quite a way to go before we can say the migration is back.
