Monarchs observed flying along the beach going south along Lake Michigan by observers of an Audubon Socierty of Kalamazoo field trip. Bird migration was poor. This seems late. Asters still blooming, goldenrods passed peak.

8:45 to 9:45 AM, 58 monarchs, start temp 57 degrees, wind ESE 3 m/hr.

9:45 to 10:45 AM, 84 monarchs counted, start temp 64 degrees, first 1/2 hour winds were calm, then shifted to NE at 2 m/hr the 2nd half hour.
