Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/28/2014

Number: 1

Only one hummer has been spotted at the patio feeders each day, early in the morning about 8am for the last three days. During the last 4 days temperatures have been in the 70;s during the day and high 40's/low 50's at night. It's been sunny with no precipitation. With Fall in the air I know even but just sighting one each day now could well be my last sighting until next season, but it has been the greatest hummingbird season we personally have had in the seventeen years we have been feeding them. While sighting only one now instead of our all time high of 25 a week and a half ago, that one still elicits the same in smiles. At least one feeder will remain hanging for two weeks after our last sighting, continually refreshed and sweetened a tab stronger, just in case a lone late traveler needs a quick pick me up on their long journey ahead. To those folks southward, thanks for feeding our crew as they head south. I know you'll be reporting a heads up upon their return next season.
