at 10 AM noted a single monarch only a bit above ground level drifting slowly W against the gentle W breeze. butterfly approached building in its path, circled and again approached building and on third attempt went up the wall and over the roof. I hurried to other side of building to see monarch come down the roof slope, across the grass and approach a fall flower garden. the butterfly alighted on the first coreopsis it approached and then nectared intensely for several minutes before continuing on to westward. this may be peak migration for 2014? hope not!
