This afternoon I saw 2 monarchs in the front garden - the first this year. One left after about 5 minutes and the other stayed for about 25 minutes, then headed South-West.

They must have been migrants since I haven't seen any this year despite planting milkweed and nectar plants. I hope there are more in the spring.
