Sightings report image

Date: 09/27/2014

Number: 10

We were driving around Cape May point looking for roosting butterflies. We came upon a group of people crowded around a butterfly bush and asked them if they'd seen any monarchs. They waved us over and offered their parking space. There were at least 10 on that bush. We parked and watched them and took pictures for about 15 min. while the monarchs were feeding on the bush. It was a delight to see them up close. They were so busy feeding that they didn't seem to mind us taking pictures. It was 6:30 pm. We watched until the ankle biting bugs got the best of us. Awesome! Made my day!
