Found 9 marching 5th instar caterpillars in the yard this morning around 10:30 a.m. It was sunny and warm. They were trying to make it through our yard which wasn't mowed recently (because of travelling caterpillars) so I scooped them up and brought them in to an enclosure to pupate. Also found 7 chrysalids hanging on plants and on the garage overhang. There are various stages of caterpillars on tropical milkweed - too many to count but in the 2 or 3 hundred range. I'm loosely covering with a mesh sleeve as tachinid flies have been awful.
