Saw 3 adults near our house feeding on Gayfeather. I saw the first outside my window. Stepping outside I saw another "buzz" it. One of the two returned to flowers. Both of these had fairly bright color. A few minutes later a well worn adult flew by 20 yards away. All were in an area sheltered from wind by a large live oak.
The one pictured is a female. Wing scales have minor scratches mostly dorsal, but wings margins are complete, with the third outer row of white marks not worn off.
