Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 10/01/2014

Number: 1

I observed what appeared to be either an adult female or a juvenile male Ruby-Throated Hummer. This is my first sighting of this Fall and I am very excited. She did not nectar at my feeder, but appeared to be drinking from the Powder Puff Bush flowers. I put out two more feeders and am waiting to see her again. Before I saw her, I heard her earlier in the afternoon. I just knew there was a new bird in town and now I am glad to see she appeared before me. I live in Palm Bay, FL about an hour and a half south of Orlando on the East Coast. I hope more will be coming, but I'll take what I can get!
