Saw a female hummingbird feeding four times until early/mid afternoon, and then did not see her anymore. There had been two females here, because they had been battling for the feeder, but on that last day I only saw one bird. This departure date is consistent with the last couple of years' departure dates. I still have one feeder and four wildly blooming pineapple sage branches for any stragglers.
