this was the last day we saw a hummer in our yard. (i'm reporting this on 3 october)
it may have been a "new" bird as it went to the sugar feeder.

the hummers we had throughout the summer had been nectaring mostly on jewelweed (which is still is good shape as of this morning). they were not using the sugar feeders their last several days here. the last time i saw the final member of that summer group was 22 september.

may their journey go well with lots of food along the way.
