While stopped on US 221 for a lane closure, I was able to take a closer look at a large field system on the east side of 221. I estimate 3 dozen adult monarchs over the area of field within view of the road. However, the field is quite large and any butterflies further back in the field from the road would be out of my sight. The field has a LOT of milkweed.
