After a 3 and 2/3 days of rain and fog, the sun finally shown for 2 hours today and the temperature rose to 68 degrees after being in the 50's. I counted 17 monarchs from 3:30 to 5:30 pm soaring on a 3 directional winds that were East off the Lake Huron shoreline, SW off the land, and North way up there in the sky. The monarchs flew 50 to 70 feet above the ground about 100' from the beach heading due South. Finally, all stopped when the clouds came roaring in from the West very low and strong (estimate - 20 mph.)
