Sightings report image

Date: 10/04/2014

Number: 100

resting in pine trees near water in San Angelo TX. Stopped counting at 100 within 100 yard area.

I park under the pine trees to read and get some fresh air. I parked there today (10/5) and there are still butterflies there. I took a photo with my phone as close as I could since I didn't want to disturb them.

Both sightings were in the afternoon between 2-4 pm. It was pretty windy yesterday and I thought maybe they were just waiting for the wind to die down. It's not as windy today, however. There is water close by under the trees, so maybe the moisture there has something to do with it?

I tried to do a count on just the one branch in to the photo, about 50 in just that cluster alone! They're everywhere!
