Had a cold front pass through the area yesterday (10/3/14) dropping the temperatures from 95/75 to 83/49. They must have come in on the front.
I always watch for the Monarchs and was surprised to see 24 clustered in pecan trees today; haven't seen this many in two or three years. Hope the numbers increase.
I believe the roost formed the evening of 10-3 but can't say for sure. I first saw the roost about 9:30am 10-4. On 10-6 saw 25 to 30 Monarchs through the day and could not find a roost; they were very scattered.
