Today, Fri., under cloudy skies with some spitting rain, I saw 6 monarchs on Buddleia in 2 different locations, all feeding like there was no tomorrow and paying no attention to us. Guess they'll pull out for NC in the AM.
None were tagged and there were 3 male and 3 female. This is the most I have seen in any one month this year. For those who track such things, they'll probably enter the Old North State through either Caswell or Rockingham county.
From Danville, good watching.
