Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/02/2014

Number: 26

Between 3:10 and 3:22 pm, while I was standing in one spot on the Oklahoma State University campus, I saw 26 monarch butterflies fly south above me. Most of them were at least 40 feet off the ground. They were riding a north breeze, which was fairly strong. By 4:30 pm, the wind was coming from NW or WNW, and I saw no monarchs in 20 minutes of looking for them.
