At 3:10 pm, I began a 5 minute survey, and saw 11 monarchs nectaring in my backyard. All were nectaring on Verbesina encelioides. I conducted four additional 5 minute surveys between 3:30 and 5:30 pm, and during each one, I counted 10 or 11 monarchs nectaring. Winds were quite light during this period, it was sunny and approx. 72 degrees.
