One female monarch flew into our backyard and immediately went to a butterfly bush for nectar. She stayed for 2 hours moving around from bush to bush and flower to flower. Winds were gusting to 36kph and the temperature at that time was 17C. We had partly sunny skies, with rain being predicted for later this afternoon. The monarch left our yard before any rainfall started. We also had 4 painted ladies and 1 red admiral feasting on our bushes.
