Overnight low 56, high84. Low Humidity. Strong south wind all day.
Monarchs feeding in all locations with liatris or other flowers. Mostly dedicated feeding, not flushing until I approached to 3-4 feet. However strong wind stirred them into short flights more than yesterday, so a bit easier to see at a distance. At least as many as yesterday, so leave it at 250. In addition, a few flushed from trees several times as I passed.
Rather than one more picture of a Monarch, this picture is an example of what not to count and report. Easy to confuse at a distance when you see only color. This is a Gulf Fritillary, Agraulis vanillae, and queuing up behind, an Invasive Eurobee, Apis mellifera.
Note that the separate roost report for today is additive to this report.
