Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 10/06/2014

Number: 1

While harvesting Common Milkweed to feed the 11 Monarch cats already at home, I was surprised to find three caterpillars on three different plants. Two cats were just over an inch long; one just under one inch. The milkweed was fresh, about a foot tall. Took them in for rearing, with the hope that weather cooperates to let them fly. I've never found cats this late in the season.
Also have 45 chrysalises at home. Hurry up, all!
